A Cold weekend at pir was hot

Click on the image above to go to the galleryThe earth moved at the far end of the course at PIR Sunday. As each rider passed over a frozen section of mud, it was as if they were jiggling a fat belly.
The feeling of the day was different in general, if not quite like the earth moving. This was not home town ball; the big boys and girls were in town. So it was less fun, there were no outrageously fun costumes and I didn't see anyone help another rider just because it's a nice thing to do - except a bevy of folks who helped the guy who dislocated his shoulder, ouch - and god forbid a kiddie ride in such thin air.
Lacking the usual edge, we got instead some kick ass racing. Those guys were fast. Even Ryan, Molly and Shawn got smoked. Sorry about that.
We hope to see you in Bend, where the weather will be even colder and the racing even hotter.
