Alpenrose Photo slideshow

photos of the week Come on, was that scheduled? The rain, we mean. Right on cue for the Cross Crusade season opener at Alpenrose - drip, drip. cyclocross gods smiled on Portland Sunday.
What a day. More than 1,200 riders and at least 200 well behaved dogs.
Six of our band even raced among in the sea of mud drenched humanity.
Can someone say slippery? KY on the slopes? Had to be, especially for the last ride of the day.
And so it is, the whistle has sounded, the rain has fallen, mud has filled all the cracks. We're off.
This week the slideshow is a little different. There is a collection of photos by the pdxcross team and then a little breakout story about the evolution of general muddiness by mike. We're experimenting here.

I am your biggest fan.
Nice work!
Love the pics of the crowd.
Absolutely perfect.
This site is yet another piece of the good-life puzzle that has just clicked into place for me.
Humblest regards, freebird
Great pics Tim.
If only I had a DSLR........ My sweet little point and shoot is fading fast.
I got some good ones, but the weather really seems to have affected the quality.
Was good to meet you at the race.

Hey that's me! can I get a copy?
Photo #32 in the velodrome is fucking glorious.
Photo #39 shows up as just black to me, and I don't see any breakout story. Am I missing something?
hey Matt,
sorry. it is just a black slide to break the rest from last ten photos - which are a mini collection of their own. it's probably just confusing people. that's what i get for making decisions so early in the morning.
Phenomenal!
Looking at these half a world away in China and wishing I was there! Really great.
Wow, you captured the moment, made me taste the mud all over again...
I wonder if you guys have any idea just how powerfull your photographs are. I'm in awe every time I visit, thank you.
I think the black slide helped to break up the two sets. Listening to Sigur Rós's album Takk... while looking through these photos makes them at least twice as dramatic.
I love your pictures of cross! I am an aspiring photographer. Check out my cross pics from the Utah Scene this week, it was a real mudfest too!

Awesome shots. Thanks to Mud and Cowbells to pointing their visitors to this site. I love cross.
One fat dude in the front, some guy learning to remount and another shouldering for no reason. That's a great shot of a bunch of man ams.
Where's the color? Why hide it? Keep cross drama(tic) free!
Turnn the sigur ros off and the Van Halen up!
Damn it!
COLOR!??!!!
Color is over rated....
Incredible photos - now when the uninitiated ask me why I love 'cross so much I just send them to your site. You have captured the essence of the mayhem. How can we get copies of the photos?
Beautiful.
[...] already seen some great still photos of the event, and now there’s this video, produced by Dan Kaufman at [...]
The b&w photos are awesome; I love the contrasts. Simply, very, very beautiful work. I will look more closely, but can we order prints?
Awesome pictures! You definitly got the look for the right moment.
