Rickreall Rampage Photo Slideshow

race Saturday I headed down south to the Rickreall Rampage.
Just after the start of one of the races, that homemade bridge had a line of folks waiting to cross it I wish I could have seen from the air. A bridge, over a ditch, in the middle of a flat field...with dozens of people holding bicycles in their hands waiting for a chance to run over it.
I was not in the air and was too far away to make a picture. But, enough about the photograph you don't see.
I'm just glad it wasn't raining. The bridge might have melted, derailleurs would have been snapping off in the wheat stubble and the those bumpy roads around the filbert grove would have been gumbo. It was instead a beautiful day down on the farm in Rickreall.
Late in the afternoon, I was drawn into the woods by the hoots and hollers of some fans. I found a fellow from Team Wreck and a few others pleading with riders to take the high road, the road less traveled, onto a little single track bridge over a log instead of going around it (I believe that the bridge was officially named the Make Out Ladder). Not many took the alternative route, but one guy who did passed the rider immediately in front of him. And the woods erupted with howls and cheers.

oh yeah Tim, this is hitting the spot. nice vision, execution and voice. the portapotty/power line close is perfect. something about it, to me, cries about human infected lands --the stubble, sh**er boxes and powerlines. surprised by your ability to not have a contrail in any of those broad skies, too! sweet work.
[...] And there’s these lovely photos from Veloshop’s Rampage. [...]
Great photos as usual. Man did that singletrack suck to ride. I guess I'm a "euro style" course rider because I crashed three times in the span of 15 minutes in the trees.
Nice job Tim

I am glad my porta potty placement made for such a nice photo. I put them there, figuring for wind, (oh the possible stank) and allowing for a nice view of the wheat field while waiting in line.
Now if people would have parked where they were supposed to, those crappers would have seen more use.
Nice photos Tim.
I do like the first one, where I am waiting for people to ride by, so I could throw another shovel load of dirt on the Over Under.
Can you say maintenance nightmare?
I knew you could...
Pics coming soon here on my bloghttp://bowelsofjohn.blogspot.com/
